Everything we do is focused on delivery of high quality treatment and unique standards of care - whether for routine, more serious or extensive procedures.
Our modern, sophisticated facilities include:
- 150 beds and 6 theatres of which one is a laminar flow theatre
- A 24-hour accident and emergency unit, equipped to deal with major and minor medical emergencies and with full backup of necessary ancillary services
- A 11 bed intensive care unit
- A 4 bed high care unit
- A 16 bed (8 private beds and 8 semi-private beds) maternity unit with well equipped wards and secure facilities
- A 6 bed neonatal ICU
- A 3 bed paediatric ICU
- A 16 private bed paediatric ward
- A radiology facility, with a comprehensive range of sophisticated diagnostic equipment including a CT scan

Patient and visitor information
At Life Anncron Hospital, we take pride in providing you, information that you need in order to make your stay with us a pleasant and hassle-free experience.

Accommodation
Accommodation in our hospital is extensive and includes:
- Accommodation in general, semi-private and private wards
- Private rooms and most semi-private rooms have en-suite bathrooms and TVs
- All of the general wards have TVs.
- Private wards are all en-suite.
Admission
Our admission process can be made much easier for you, if the following simple guidelines are followed. Admissions can be done in advance and this is advisable to ensure all medical aid / medical scheme requirements are met before actual admission.
The following items are required for admission:
- Current medical aid card.
- ID book.
- Pre-authorisation number, if applicable.
- X-rays, if applicable.
- Medication, if in use.
- Personal clothing and toiletries.
- Prepayment by private patients.
Other Criteria:
- Private patients (who do not have medical aid / medical scheme cover, or who are undergoing procedures not covered by a medical aid / medical scheme) should phone the reception supervisor at telephone 018 468 0023 to confirm the procedure and prepayment amount.
- A parent or legal guardian must accompany all patients under 18 years. Mothers or fathers whose children are admitted as patients and who wish to stay with their children at all times, including overnight stay, can do so by registering as a bed boarder. This service includes meals and refreshments for only one parent at a time).
Discharge
- Patients who hired a remote control for the TV, should report to reception on discharge to ensure that they claim their money back.
- Private patients (without medical aid / medical scheme cover) have to settle their accounts in full on discharge at reception.
Intensive Care Unit and High Care Unit
- 10:30 to 11:00
- 15:00 to 16:00
- 19:15 to 20:00
Neo Natal Intensive Care Unit
- 10:00 to 11:00
- 15:00 to 16:00
- 19:15 to 20:15
Further to this:
- Maximum of two visitors per patient at a time
- Only the closest relatives will be allowed
A private lounge for family and friends next to the ICU has been provided for.
Service monitoring
In keeping with our goal to continue providing high quality care, we monitor our service to patients on an ongoing basis. On discharge patients are asked to give electronic feedback on the Client Feedback System regarding their stay in hospital. Participation is voluntary, but it does assist management in addressing any problems and improving our service to you. Comment cards are also available to write any complaints / compliments.

Tariffs
Life Anncron Hospital charges medical aid / medical scheme rates for all medical aid members.
Visiting hours
We welcome all of our patients visitors, as we know what a difference the support of close family and friends can make.
In light of this, we also have to be aware of the rest that all of our patients require and we have thus provided for visitors to visit our hospital only at certain designated times and these are:
General Wards:
- 10:00 to 11:00
- 15:00 to 16:00
- 19:15 to 20:15
Further to this:
- Maximum of three visitors per patient are allowed at a time
