This community based hospital provides patients with quality patient care and a diverse range of services. The hospital enjoys the strong support of the general practitioners in Brakpan and specialises in medicine, orthopaedic surgery, paediatrics, gynaecology and general surgery.

At the Life Dalview Hospital, we take pride in providing you information that you need in order to make your stay with us a pleasant and hassle-free experience.

The following types of accommodation are available:

  • Private and Semi-Private Wards.
  • TVs at all beds.
  • Well balanced room and bathroom ratio.

Paediatric ward:

  • Private, Semi-Private and Isolation Rooms.


  • Four ICU Beds which three are Isolation rooms.
  • Five High Care beds.


  • Luxury suite that includes all meals for your guest as well as an overnight facility
  • Free baby bag filled with essential items and informative booklet
  • Birth registration by the Department of Home Affairs and delivery of unabridged birth certificate
  • Audiologist visit for your new born


The following items are required for admission:

  • Current medical aid card
  • Pre-authorisation from medical aid if applicable
  • ID book
  • X-rays, if applicable
  • Chronic Medication
  • Personal clothing and toiletries

All patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Mothers whose children are admitted as patients in both private rooms and the general ward are able to stay in the hospital free of charge. Meals will be available at a very low cost, needs to be ordered early in the morning.


Private patients have to settle their accounts in full (i.e. the balance of the account if the final account exceeds the deposit), before leaving the hospital.

Day patients undergoing surgery under anaesthetic should arrange transport from the hospital - it is not advisable to drive for 24 hours following anaesthetic.

Service monitoring

In keeping with our goal to continue providing high quality care, we monitor our services to patients on an ongoing basis. Patients are asked to complete a questionnaire regarding their stay in the hospital. A questionnaire will also be sent to you via your e-mail or cell phone. Participation is voluntary, but it does help management to address any problems and to improve the quality of service. We especially welcome any suggestion you may have.


Life Dalview Hospital charges medical aid tariffs, i.e. contracted in fees. Surcharges for suites and private rooms must be paid in full on discharge.

General wards:

  • Maximum of two visitors per patient at a time
  • 11:00 to 12:00
  • 15:00 to 16:00
  • 19:00 to 20:00

Paediatric ward:

  • Maximum of two visitors per patient at a time
  • 11:00 to 12:00
  • 15:00 to 16:00
  • 19:00 to 20:00

ICU and high care ward:

  • Maximum of two visitors per patient at a time
  • 11:00 to 12:00
  • 15:00 to 16:00
  • 19:00 to 20:00

Maternity Ward:

  • Maximum of two visitors per patient at a time (Parents and Grandparents only)
  • 11:00 to 12:00
  • 15:00 to 16:00
