Our facilities
- A rehabilitation centre, complete with a heated hydro-therapy pool and fully equipped gymnasium, for the rehabilitation of patients who have had a stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, or those who have any other neurological, orthopaedic or medical condition which requires intensive physical rehabilitation
- A 35-bed mental health facility that can assist with acute psychiatric conditions and also offers a 24-hour emergency service with psychiatrists on call.
- A paediatric ward and a neonatal intensive care unit complete with state-of-the-art monitoring and life support equipment including a high frequency ventilator, providing the best possible environment for our smallest patients
- A technologically advanced oncology centre offering comprehensive cancer management incorporating chemotherapy, radiotherapy (including Brachytherapy and stereotactic radiotherapy) together with an extensive counselling programme
- A 22-bed maternity unit with well-appointed wards and video security facilities. This unit is ably supported by a Well Mother and Baby Unit, which provides support to the mother after delivery of her infant/s
- A sleep laboratory for the confirmation and diagnosis of sleep abnormalities
- A home nursing service, to provide personalised, follow-up treatment in the patient’s home
- A daycare unit for smaller, same-day procedures
- A dedicated Renal Unit has been set up across the road from Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital on First Floor, The Park Office Building, Park Road, Pinelands.
- Life Support Unit - Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital possesses a Life Support Unit – a free medical emergency response service to Pinelands, the Southern Suburbs, Cape Town CBD and surrounding communities. This service comprises a dedicated response vehicle equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, staffed by advanced life support trained paramedics, who are able to respond to medical emergencies 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. All a resident has to do is call 0860 532 532 and a paramedic will be dispatched to attend to the situation. It is to be noted that International SOS receives all calls and should the paramedic already be attending another incident, another service provider will be dispatched to attend the situation.

Cardiac
Our cardiac unit has rapidly established itself as one of the foremost centres of its kind in the country. Following the introduction of world-class facilities, our cardiac unit is helping many patients to improve the quality of their lives through the early diagnosis and treatment of a wide spectrum of cardiac conditions.
Our cardiac unit offers state-of-the-art cardiac care and is equipped with sophisticated investigative facilities such as:

- A rehabilitation unit complete with a heated pool
Cardiac Services
- A 24-hour Emergency Unit capable of handling all cardiac, medical, surgical and trauma emergencies. Our nursing staff is fully qualified in emergency medicine, and a doctor is on the premises 24 hours a day.
- We are fully supported by leading specialists and highly trained personnel within the hospital, which puts us in an excellent position to offer top class emergency cardiac treatment.
- A core team of highly trained nursing staff is available around the clock to assist our cardiologists with emergency diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
- We also have a 14 bed Medical Intensive Care Unit equipped with diagnostic and monitoring facilities such as advanced life support and resuscitation facilities, and the spacious, innovative design is aimed at both nursing excellence and positive patient outcomes.
- A wide spectrum of medical emergencies is treated in the medical intensive care unit. These include:
- Heart attacks
- Septic shock
- Bad pneumonia
- Emphysema
- Severe asthma
- A 14-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit, pivotal to the new high technology approach of the hospital is equipped with life-support equipment for patients recovering from major cardiac, general and neurosurgery.

Renal Dialysis Unit
The kidney unit at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital provides a dialysis service to patients suffering from either permanent or temporary kidney failure. Our modern eight station unit is equipped with state of the art equipment which incorporates the latest technological advancements in renal treatment. For the convenience of patients, each dialysis station has its own TV and Wi-Fi, while reading material is also available and light snacks are served to them.

Oncology centre
The oncology Centre at Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital provides programmes and services for early detection, diagnosis, treatment, support and follow-up care for people with cancer.
The newly refurbished centre features premium technology in a warm, patient friendly and modern environment. Our specialised unit embodies a team approach to cancer care - a distinction the Oncology Centre is very proud of. Our patients are treated by a team of oncologists, radiation therapists, medical physicists, nurses, surgeons, psychologists and other cancer specialists that work together for a truly multidisciplinary approach to cancer treatment in a convenient and comfortable setting.

Persons who voluntarily seek professional healthcare assistance for psychiatric disorders or addiction can now be admitted to the new Life St Vincent’s facility for treatment. At Life Vincent Pallotti, we take pride in providing you with information that you will need in order to make your stay with us a pleasant and hassle-free experience.

Accommodation
Accommodation in our hospital is extensive and includes:
- Private rooms with en suite bathroom
- Semi-private rooms
- General four bed wards
Patients select meals from a menu, and special dietary needs are catered for.
Admission
The following items are required for admission:
- Current medical aid membership card
- Identity document
- Pre-authorisation number, if applicable
- X-rays, if applicable
- Medication, if in use
- Personal clothing and toiletries
A parent or legal guardian must accompany all patients under 18 years.
Discharge
Day patients undergoing surgery under anaesthetic should arrange for transport from the hospital - it is not advisable to drive for 24 hours following an anaesthetic.

Service monitoring
In keeping with our goal to continue providing high quality care, we monitor our service to patients on an ongoing basis. On discharge patients are asked to complete a questionnaire regarding their stay in hospital. Participation is voluntary, but it does assist management in addressing any problems and improving our service. We especially welcome any suggestions you may have.
Tariffs
- Life Vincent Pallotti Hospital charges medical aid tariffs according to scale of benefits.
- Private patients and members of certain medical aids will be required to pay a deposit prior to admission, and to settle their accounts in full on discharge.
- Medical aid and medical insurance scheme members are advised to check the extent of their coverage prior to admission, and to obtain a pre-authorisation number from their funder, if applicable.

- General wards: 15h00 - 16h00 and 19h15 - 20h15.
- Paediatric ward: 15h00 - 16h00 and 18h00 - 20h00.
- Maternity Unit:
- 10h00 – 11h00 Grandparents only
- 15h00 – 16h00 Family & Friends
- 19h00 – 20h00 Fathers & Siblings only (Fathers are allowed to move in and out between 08h00 and 20h00)
